Pollinator Habitat Certification

UMass Extension's Pollinator Habitat Certification is designed to acknowledge spaces in Massachusetts that are thoughtfully provisioned and managed for native pollinators.


Requirements for certification include:

● Food (floral resources)

● Shelter (nesting substrates)

● Refuge from pesticides

● Management commitments

● Located in Massachusetts


Each application will be hand-reviewed by the UMass Extension Pollinator Specialist and upon approval, there will be an option to purchase an official habitat sign.

Purchasing Information:

  • The credit card charge will appear as: "Campus Storefront."

Certification Information:

  • Please allow 6 weeks for review.
  • All applicants will receive notification upon approval or if revisions are necessary.
  • Upon certification an optional sign can be purchased to display in the habitat.
